Keep your team. Add experienced trade compliance support behind it.

MGS provides ongoing technical support for importers that need stronger oversight, faster escalation, and experienced customs judgment without rebuilding the organization around a new internal department.

Recognize this?

Signs you may have a problem.

Your team is stretched and customs work is being handled reactively.
Nobody independently checks whether the broker’s 7501s match your instructions.
The same entry corrections or classification questions keep repeating.
CBP escalations pull senior staff away from their normal responsibilities.
Supplier, broker, and internal data are not consistently aligned.
Projects such as audits, reclassification, recovery, or process cleanup keep getting delayed because no one owns them end to end.

Where we look

What MGS checks.

It can start at the supplier A customs problem can start at the supplier before the shipment ever moves. We help make sure the information feeding your broker and entry process is accurate, complete, and consistent.

Broker oversight

Your broker clears entries. MGS helps make sure the data behind them is right.

We review CBP Form 7501 data, HTS, Chapter 98/99 treatment, declared value, origin, quantities, duties, special tariff treatment, and the master data or instructions being used to prepare the entry.

We also monitor recurring errors, turnaround, corrections, documentation flow, and escalation patterns to identify issues before they become the new normal.

What gets monitored

  • 7501 accuracy against your instructions
  • Entry turnaround and 7501 finalization
  • Repeated corrections and recurring errors
  • Documentation turnaround
  • Escalation handling and response times

What success looks like

Give the existing team a technical backstop: fewer recurring errors, better broker control, faster escalation, and a clearer view of what is happening across the import program.

Common questions

Asked in importers' own words.

Who is actually checking our broker’s 7501s?

In many import programs, nobody. The broker prepares the entry and the importer pays the bill. MGS reviews 7501 data against your instructions: HTS, Chapter 98/99 treatment, value, origin, quantities, duties, and special tariff treatment, and flags where they diverge.

Are the same errors repeating month after month?

If nobody is monitoring corrections, turnaround, and exceptions across the population, they can repeat for years. We track recurring errors and escalation patterns so a repeated entry-level issue is caught before it becomes the new normal.

Who owns CBP escalations when something goes wrong?

With ongoing support, MGS does, alongside your team. CBP notices, examination status, and response deadlines are handled by someone who has handled them before, instead of pulling senior staff off their normal responsibilities.

Do our suppliers and brokers have the same instructions?

Often not, which is where documentation gaps begin. We check that supplier data, importer instructions, and broker master data are aligned, and correct the instruction or documentation standard when they are not.

Can someone help manage this without replacing our internal team?

That is exactly the model. Your team keeps ownership. MGS adds experienced trade compliance judgment behind it: oversight, escalation, projects, and day-to-day questions, sized to what the program actually needs.

How do we stay ahead of compliance work instead of reacting to it?

By giving the recurring work an owner. Broker oversight, classification governance, control testing, and compliance projects run on a cadence instead of waiting for a CBP notice to force them.
